Pineapple Pretzel Salad: the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The sugar coated pretzels put this salad over the top. #summersalad #saltyandsweet #pretzel #pineapple #candiedpretzels #summer

INGREDIENTS

For the topping:
  • 1 C coarsely chopped pretzels
  • ⅓ C sugar
  • ½ C butter, melted

For the salad:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
  • ½ C sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. For the topping:
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  3. Mix melted butter and sugar together.
  4. Stir in pretzels.
  5. Spread in a 9 x 13 pan and bake for 7 minutes.
  6. Stir to break it up and cool completely.
  7. For the salad:
  8. Cream together the cream cheese and sugar until well mixed.
  9. Stir the Cool-Whip and pineapple tidbits into the cream cheese mixture.
  10. Chill 2-3 hours.
  11. Add pretzel mixture right before serving.
